3 million sq.m of houses constructed from the beginning of the year in Moscow
Since the beginning of the year, about 6.7 million square meters of various real estate have been built and commissioned in the capital, including 2.8 million “squares” of housing, said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Construction, Marat Khusnullin.
“Housing construction is the main driver of megalopolis development. Moscow is actively closing the gap with other megacities in terms of housing provision and takes the 4th place in the pace of housing construction among megacities, overtaking New York”, said Marat Khusnullin.
According to the head of the Construction complex, since the beginning of this year in the capital of Russia, an unprecedented result has been noted on the commissioning of real estate and housing. “Compared to the same period last year, 2 times more real estate and 3 times more housing were commissioned. The annual commissioning plan has already been completed by 75%”, said Marat Khusnullin.
The deputy mayor recalled that from 2011 to 2018, 67 million square meters of real estate were built in Moscow, including 26 million square meters of housing.
“I want to emphasize that the city comprehensively forms new quarters, taking into account the wishes and interests of Muscovites as much as possible. Our task is not just to build new facilities, but to create a full and comfortable urban environment, to provide all Muscovites with convenient access to social and transport infrastructure facilities”, added Marat Khusnullin.
