A unified classifier will be developed for a construction industry

20.11.2018

A unified classification system for the construction industry, which is being worked on at the FAA “FTsS” of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, will be presented for discussion early next year. The categorizer systematizes information generated at all stages of the life cycle of a construction project.

A single classifier is necessary for the transition to the lifecycle management system of capital construction projects with the help of BIM, Dmitry Mikheev, director of the Federal Autonomous Establishment of FTsS, explained.

“Defined general approaches to the organization of information to ensure the management of the life cycle of buildings and structures using information modeling. This allows us to start work on creating a unified classification system in the construction industry, which will reduce the time and improve the quality of construction processes, make transparent the feasibility study, procurement, creating estimates for construction and forecasting the cost of maintaining real estate”, said Dmitry Mikheev.

It should be noted that Russia is also a responsible party in the development of a unified classification system in the construction industry of the CIS member states in Russian.
