Construction companies to submit notifications on transferring to SRO by December 1
All construction companies have to submit notifications on transferring to Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) at the place of registration or on maintaining of membership in present organizations by the 1st of December.
Otherwise since the 1st of July, 2017 a member of SRO will be excluded from an organization. Moreover, a company will not be able to join SRO and to conduct works which require a membership in the SRO, informed the Urban planning Policy Department of Moscow.
It should be reminded that the law completely changing the operating of SRO’s was adopted on the 3rd of July, 2016. The main goal of the law is to strengthen control over construction companies and cash assets of compensation funds. The law will come into force since the 1st of July, 2017.
Previously, the Head of the Urban-planning Policy Department of Moscow, Sergey Levkin noted at the meeting with representatives of construction business that with the adoption of this law a regional principle of membership in SRO will be applied to construction companies.
“Developers, technical customers, contractors can be the members of such SRO registered in the region of the Russian Federation where SRO was registered. At the same time this requirement is not applicable to designers and surveyors,” emphasized Sergey Levkin.
According to him this approach will allow to strengthen control over the activity of SRO’s members and the construction quality in Moscow which the Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin, declared to be one of the key priorities of urban-planning development.
