Urban Development and Construction Complex is actively implementing information modeling technologies. According to the Head of Committee of Moscow on the state examination of projects and pricing in construction (“Moskomekspertiza”) Valery Leonov, a special action plan have been developed for these purposes. It takes into account and disseminate the regulations of approved by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (“Minstroy”) “road map”.

“Now we are all focused on elaboration of standard for Moscow and its’ further testing on real facilities in order to recommend this standard for dissemination in regions as an effecient practice. This, in turn, will enable to create unified BIM state standard in Russia”, – explained the Head of the Committee.

In 2017-2019 specialists intend to elaborate and implement a number of regulations and requirements, which take into account the specificity of the capital as well as to try usage of BIM-technologies on pilot capital construction objects.

According to the official, private investors have already appraised high potential of the technology and started to apply information modelling in their projects. To date Moskomekspertiza has issued 13 conclusions on facilities with BIM-model. However, some difficulties have been detected during the collaboration of state customer and developer in this area. “They cannot fully (with all advantages) apply the technology because state customer works in another way. Therefore, the main current task – is to move to fundamentally new level of Moscow Construction Complex that will create conditions for full-scale BIM-implementation by investors”, – told Valery Leonov. Nowadays this trend is one of the priority for Construction Complex.

As the Head of Minstroy Mikhail Menh noted earlier, implementation of BIM-technologies is a crucial point that will bring economic result. The Ministry set a task to transform construction sector in Russia into new format of project management and to make BIM as a general practice at the entire Russian construction area. A work group and expert Council with the Minstroy have been established for this purpose and they work on this problem.
