Digital transformation is a strategic priority of constructors
The company Strategy Partners, a member of the top 3 strategic consultants on the Russian market, in conjunction with RSUD and the General Director magazine, conducted a study of the construction industry. According to its results, it turned out that Russian construction and development companies are ready to move to a new technological level: more than 40% of respondents consider digital transformation their strategic priority.
“For the first time, our research has shown a current picture of the current level of “digital” development of Russian construction and development companies. We saw how far companies have advanced in three key areas: product and customer, production process, and corporate functions”, said Elena Kiseleva, research director, partner of Strategy Partners, head of Real Estate and Infrastructure practice.
Survey participants identified the top 5 most promising technologies for the industry. They turned out to be: BIM, Big Data, UAV, cloud solutions for collaboration and the Internet of things. As part of the study, construction and development companies also identified three key problems for the introduction of digital technologies. This is a high cost of implementation, insufficient digitalization of suppliers and high risks of introducing new digital technologies.
“Successful transformation can significantly increase the value of a company, and ignoring it can destroy a business. Today, digital technologies allow companies to compare favorably in the market. And it’s necessary to differ: if a company doesn’t stand out, consider it doesn’t exist, ”notes Alexander Idrisov, founder and managing partner of Strategy Partners.
