Draft amendments to City Planning Code on use of BIM technology presented
Step by step introduction of BIM technology in the field of industrial and civil construction was the main topic of the Expert Council meeting under the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation.
It was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Leonid Stavitsky.
He pointed out that the current city planning legislation does not contain provisions relating to use of BIM technologies in development of project documentation.
“However the bill does not mean that there will be immediate move to development of project documentation for capital construction projects only in the form of information models,” said Leonid Stavitsky.
According to him, developers will take the decision on the form of development of design documentation on their own.
In case the project documentation developed in information model format receives a positive expert conclusion, it is submitted to the Unified State Register of Conclusions (hereinafter – USRC) of Expert Examination of Design Documentation for Capital Construction Objects. He kept there for permanent storing.
According to Leonid Stavisky, it will greatly simplify the whole procedure of obtaining a construction permit.
To obtain such a document a developer will have to submit an application to the authorized body with the indication of the registration number of a positive conclusion on the project documentation.
