European BIM Forum to be held in September

04.08.2016

Trimble European BIM Forum 2016 will take place on September 22-23 in Warsaw, Poland. All specialists interested in the development of construction sector will be able to get acquainted with the latest achievements in the transformation of the digital industry format.

Technology, digital tools and modern processes together, not forgetting the human aspect, all have great impact in the industry and challenge old ways and methods. This one and a half day event focuses on three aspects affecting the digital change in our industry:

Process: How digital construction or building information technologies are changing existing processes?
Technology: Innovative uses of existing technologies
People: Technology is developing, processes are changing and our work is transforming. How about people?

As a reminder, Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. A BIM is a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle; defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition. These technologies are widely used all over the world for 20 years. However, in Russia there is no legal framework for their widespread use though Moscow is now starting to introduce BIM technology in construction sector. Moscow Construction Complex experts have issued more than 10 opinions on projects presented via BIM technology, said Valery Leonov, Chairman of Moskomekspertiza. According to him, there are several advantages of submitting a data model for state examination.

“First of all, the changes made to the project will not result in excessive expenses for design works and increasing the terms of their implementation, as BIM tech allows you to automatically track the chain of changes in all sections and quickly update them. Another advantage of such technologies – high quality of project documentation, obtained by automatic checks and elimination of minor inconsistencies. The richer and more elaborated is a data model, the less amendments it requires, that results in prompt issuing of positive conclusion,” said Vladimir Leonov.
