Goal of urban policy — to walk a fine line between interests of the city and developers
The town-planning policy of Moscow is built according to the interests of citizens, it is not designed for profit margins of developers, told the Head of the Moscow Department of urban policy and construction, Sergey Levkin.
“Urban planning policy aims to ensure the construction of buildings necessary for comprehensive development of the capital, it is not designed for investors and developers in order to gain the highest profits while building highly profitable objects,” said Sergey Levkin.
At the same time, he stressed that the task of urban planning policy is to walk a fine line between the interests of the city and the developer market.
“We have a strong belief that urban areas must be developed comprehensively. It is impossible to build housing on every free site of the city. It is necessary to build social infrastructure, parks, that means to create a comfortable urban environment for life, business and leisure of Muscovites,” noted Sergey Levkin.
