Matvienko: We have to remove all barriers to increase volume of construction

02.03.2020

To fulfil the goal of commissioning 120 mln sq. meters of housing per year, set by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, all restrictions that prevent growth of volume of construction have to be removed, thinks Valentina Matvienko, the Federation Council Chairman.

“I want to remind that the President of the Russian Federation has set a goal to construct 120 mln sq. meters annually by 2024. It means that volume of housing construction should increase by more than one and a half times for Russia as a whole”, – said Matvienko.

However, according to the Federation Council Chairman, such pace and volume of construction is unachievable in the majority of regions. To solve this situation all barriers in construction have to be removed gradually. “We have to it all together – the government, legislators and regions”, – noted Valentina Matvienko.
