Metro will come to Vnukovo
Moscow approved a project to extend the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya metro line from Rasskazovka station to Vnukovo station, said Anastasia Pyatova, chairman of Moskomstroyinvest.
On the projected section of the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line with a length of 5.2 km, two stations will be located – Pykhtino and Vnukovo.
“The extension of the yellow line of the metro to Vnukovo is necessary to improve the conditions of transport services for the population and the developing areas of New Moscow,” said Anastasia Pyatova.
With the opening of new stations, the level of transport services at Vnukovo Airport will increase and the volume of passenger traffic will increase by 1.5 times. In addition, passengers will have an alternative – it will be possible to get to the airport both by metro and by aeroexpress.
Earlier, the deputy mayor of Moscow for urban planning and construction, Marat Khusnullin, said that by extending the yellow line, he would not only improve the airport’s accessibility, but would also allow residents of adjacent areas to reduce the time to travel to the center by 45 minutes. “In addition, a large technology park will be built in Vnukovo. Therefore, the extension of the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya branch will be in demand, ”the head of the building complex emphasized.
