Michael Men: use of BIM-technologies in construction attracts foreign investors

The use of information modeling technologies helps attract foreign investors’ funds to Russian construction projects. This was recently announced by the Minister of Construction and Housing of Russia Mikhail Men.

He noted that at the 20th international exhibition of commercial real estate and investments “Expo Real” in Munich (Germany), Russian projects created with the use of BIM-technologies, aroused the greatest interest among foreign companies.

The head of the Ministry of Construction said that the introduction of BIM-technologies as a mandatory practice in the Russian construction industry, as well as the transfer of state orders for this technology is a priority direction of the work of the Ministry.

“Within the framework of this task, a working group and an expert council have been established, which are engaged in creating mechanisms for regulating the construction process in the field of industrial and civil construction. We have to develop a single regulatory framework, make the necessary changes to the legislation, so that work with the BIM-model is carried out on a carefully prepared legal framework”, he said.
