Ministry of the russIan federation: BIM saves developers up to 30% of the project cost

The introduction of BIM-technologies will be an important step towards digitalization of construction in the country, said the Minister of Construction of the Russian Federation Vladimir Yakushev.

The minister said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda that information modeling will help not only reduce time, but also save up to 30% of the funds allocated for construction.

Also, the simplification of the re-examination procedure will speed up the implementation of projects.

“Now there is no need to stop construction, making changes during the implementation of the project. Changes to the design documentation that do not affect the supporting building structures comply with safety requirements and design assignments, and also when this does not exceed the budget allocation limit for budget facilities, they can be approved directly at the construction site, ”said Vladimir Yakushev.

Thanks to the innovation, instead of undergoing the re-examination of the entire project, only an assessment of the changes made to the project will be carried out.

According to the head of the Ministry of Construction, this will allow the developer to save billions of rubles, which will affect the final price per square meter.
