More than 3 million sq. meters of housing introduced in Moscow since the beginning of the year
From January to August 2019, 3.3 million square meters were commissioned in Moscow. meters of housing, which is much more than the same period last year, said the head of the Department of Urban Planning Policy of Moscow Sergey Levkin.
“If 1.4 million square meters of housing were built in Moscow in 8 months of 2018, then in 8 months of this year this figure increased to 3.3 million. This increase is due to the completion of work on projects that were previously in a high degree of readiness” – said Sergey Levkin.
The head of the department emphasized that the bulk of housing in the capital is being built by investors.
Sergey Levkin recalled that the concept of integrated development of territories is being implemented in Moscow, thanks to which a comfortable living environment is formed in the city.
“We pay special attention to the creation of social infrastructure facilities. For 8 months of 2019, 14 kindergartens, 6 schools and primary school blocks, 2 medical institutions, 5 sports facilities were commissioned. In addition, 13 new hotels and apart-hotels and 7 industrial and production facilities appeared in the city, thanks to which new jobs are created in the capital”, concluded Sergey Levkin.
