Moscow authorities plan to move up Russia to top-20 of Doing Business ranking by 2018
Moscow authorities plan to secure position for Russia in the top-twenty of the global Doing Business ranking in 2018, moving up by 40 positions, and to bring Moscow into first place in the National investment rating, said the First Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Industrial Policy of Moscow Alexey Fursin during a meeting of the Commission on Science and Industry of the Moscow City Duma.
He noted that the Doing Business ranking, which assesses the ease of doing business in different countries, takes into account only two Russian cities – Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the same time four indicators are evaluated exclusively for Moscow.
“We can say that the chosen economic landmark of the city which is focusing on creation conditions for small and medium-sized businesses should lead us to two achievements: by 2018, we have to enter into the top-twenty of the Doing Business ranking (currently the capital resides on the 40th place), and to lead the top of the National Investment rating until 2018 (today we are on 10th position),” said Fursin.
