Moscow enters short list of World Smart City Awards
New concept of online services of Moscow became a finalist for the World Smart City Awards in the category of “City”.
Besides Russia, the short list included projects from China, India, Korea, the United States and the Netherlands. In total this year, applications were submitted from 40 countries.
As reported on the World Smart City Awards Prize website, Moscow put out a new project – Сity as a service platform: new concept of public services for 12.5 mln citizens. Moscow Government has implemented a centralized system of management and delivery of state services. It covers all spheres of city life, from utilities and housing to healthcare, education and safety, delivering to citizens 200 types of services online and via mobile.
The fact that Moscow is the world leader in terms of introducing online state services, is supported by the report prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Earlier, the Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin noted that computerization is being introduced in a variety of areas of the city management – in healthcare, education, and video surveillance systems.
As noted by the Department of urban planning policy of the capital, the construction complex of Moscow give great attention to online services. This work is carried out in the framework of reducing administrative barriers and improving the investment climate.
During the Moscow Urban Forum the Head of the Department of urban planning policy Sergey Levkin has presented online services that simplify the interaction of developers with the authorities. Among them were e-government services, calculator of procedures in construction, the cabinet of developer (developer personal account) and a united contact center of the Moscow construction complex.
