Moscow general plan institute developed a basis of typical elements for a BIM model
At the Institute of the General Plan of Moscow, almost all design work is carried out using BIM technologies. In the course of work, new formats are being developed that simplify the work and allow you to accelerate the timing of tasks. This was told by the first deputy director of the Institute of the General Plan of Moscow on production issues Oleg Grigoriev.
“At our institute, a department for the implementation of BIM technologies was created in which all employees undergo training in the process of performing a specific task. Specialists have developed a database of typical buildings and urban elements according to various reference books, so that they can easily be included in any planning project. This significantly speeds up the work and simplifies the task of developing a model, ”said Oleg Grigoryev.
The First Deputy Director emphasized that working with BIM is not just a fashion trend, but a necessity for creating a balanced metropolis with a high-quality urban environment.
“The use of information modeling at various levels – from creating a master plan of the city to point-based planning projects, not only dramatically increases the speed of the project, but also positively affects the quality of work: errors are minimized at the design stage, interagency cooperation is improved, as all project participants see changes, dynamics, can make adjustments and receive complete information about the object from a single model, ”said Oleg Grigoriev.

One of the most important tasks for the implementation of BIM is the creation of a single production chain between all departments. A working group created in the Department of Urban Planning Policy of Moscow is involved in resolving this issue.
