Moscow – the city of the future
PricewaterhouseCoopers conducted a study “The Metropolis of the Future. Space for Life ”, according to the results of which a quarter of city residents consider Moscow to be the city of the future. The head of the department of urban planning policy, Sergey Levkin, noted that the development of electronic services contributes to this.
“The government of the capital is faced with the task of creating a fundamentally new environment, the life in which will be determined, including the principles of a“ smart city ”. Thanks to the development of telecommunication technologies in Moscow, it is already possible to pay utility bills without leaving home, or to remotely enroll your child in a school or kindergarten. The development of the electronic services sector in construction allows developers to receive all the necessary documents without delay and significantly reduce the construction time. Probably, these and other positive changes encourage residents to see in Moscow the image of a city of the future, ”said Sergey Levkin.
In the study of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Moscow ranked 4th in the world among megacities, which residents perceive as the image of the city of the future. The first three places were taken by Toronto, Sydney and London.
