Moscow will fully transition to BIM in 2020
Moscow designers and builders will completely switch to BIM technologies in 2020, said Marat Khusnullin, deputy mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for urban planning and construction issues.
“Moscow is a pilot region for the implementation of information modeling technologies in the construction industry. We are faced with the task in 2020 to completely switch to design using BIM technologies”, said Marat Khusnullin.
The deputy mayor noted that since this year, state procurement projects are already being evaluated according to BIM technology standards. “Moreover, in Moscow there are already finished facilities, the design of which was carried out using information modeling. In particular, this is the Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Luzhniki”, said Marat Khusnullin.
The use of BIM-technologies increases the speed of implementation and reduces the cost of the project, allows you to read its entire life cycle, added the deputy mayor. “Information modeling technologies can reduce the risk of error and provide for most of the difficulties before the construction phase of the building, as well as help in its operation”, said Marat Khusnullin.
BIM technology involves the creation of a 3D computer model of the future object containing all the necessary information about it. It is assumed that design using BIM will make it possible to more accurately assess the value of the object and the efficiency of use of funds during construction.
