Mosgosexpertiza developed a system of automatic checks of BIM-projects

The system developed by Mosgosexpertiza automatically checks design decisions on objects in the form of digital models. To date, more than 300 automatic checks have been implemented using the new software, said Denis Davydov, head of the project office for the implementation of BIM technologies at Moscow State Expertise.

“The system checks digital models for compliance with the general requirements for their expert evaluation, as well as for compliance with the requirements of existing standards in the field of construction. The total number of inspections implemented in the system at present is more than 200 general and more than 130 normative,”said Denis Davydov.

The head of the project office emphasized that today the verification of models presented in IFC format has been automated in the sections “Architectural Solutions”, “Measures to Ensure Access for Mobility Groups” and “Fire Safety Measures” for three types of capital construction projects (residential buildings, objects of education and health).

“Experts, when checking project documentation, can access this system, conduct automatic checks and track the history of checks. In total, for one digital model of a small residential building, the number of general and regulatory checks now reaches several tens of thousands, and they are carried out in a matter of seconds, forming a report on erroneous data, ”said Denis Davydov.

Currently, work is underway to develop the system in terms of flexible configuration of the logic of automated general and regulatory checks. As a result, experts working with project documentation made using BIM will have access to functionality for generating individual inspections.

Chairman of the Moskomekpertiza Valery Leonov, in turn, noted that the committee is actively working on the implementation of BIM-technologies.

“The development of such an automated information solution began in 2017, and now it is actively used in testing on“ pilot ”projects. Requirements for digital models were developed as part of the Action Plan for the implementation of BIM-technologies in the activities of the capital’s construction complex, they are regularly updated and supplements are developed. We hope that this tool will become the prototype of many other useful solutions based on BIM, ”said Valery Leonov. A.
