Pandemic will not affect real estate commissioning volumes in Moscow
The spread of coronavirus infection and related restrictive measures will not affect the final annual real estate commissioning rates in the capital, Andrei Bochkarev, deputy mayor of Moscow for urban planning and construction said during the discussion “The construction industry in a pandemic: risks and new opportunities”.
“For some time, due to the pandemic, part of Moscow’s construction was forced to suspend, but in the summer they returned to the pre-crisis level. Since the beginning of 2020, about 8 million square meters of real estate have been introduced, including more than 3.5 million “squares” of housing, which actually closed our planned annual indicators”, – Andrei Bochkarev said.
The head of the Construction Complex emphasized that this was made possible thanks to a set of effective measures to support the industry and developers adopted by the Moscow Government and Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
“The crisis will certainly not pass without a trace. But we do not expect serious consequences, since the measures taken will keep the industry at the planned level”, – Andrei Bochkarev added.
