Petersburg lowers administrative barriers
We witness decline in terms of the various administrative procedures associated with opening and running a business in St. Petersburg, says the Governor of the northern capital Georgy Poltavchenko.
In St. Petersburg the special panel on reduction of administrative barriers started its work in 2013. Since 2014 it was headed by the vice-governor Alexander Govorunov.
Georgy Poltavchenko noted that recently the authorities of the northern capital have significantly advanced in improving the accessibility of energy infrastructure, as well as improving tax administration, business climate for construction and investment activities.
The work on lowering administrative barriers has received a positive assessment of the governor.
“Terms of getting construction permits have reduced from 540 to 212 days. As a result, St. Petersburg has showed positive dynamics in the national rating of investment climate which was carried out by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. It also helped to improve the performance of Russia in the World Bank Doing business ranking,” said Georgy Poltavchenko.
