Pilot projects for the implementation of BIM-technologies defined

04.04.2019

The Ministry of Construction of Russia has identified pilot projects for the implementation of which will apply information modeling technology. This was announced by the deputy head of department Dmitry Volkov.

During the construction of selected objects, it is planned to test regulatory and technical requirements and organizational and technological solutions in terms of BIM modeling.

“The implementation of pilot projects will allow us to find out what problems designers may encounter when applying BIM technologies at all stages of construction: design, expertise, construction, operation. As a result, taking into account practical experience, we will be able to qualitatively supplement the regulatory and technical framework”, Dmitry Volkov explained.

According to the official, the bill, enshrining the concept of information modeling in construction, will be accepted until the end of 2019. “This bill is now developed and is being coordinated with the federal executive authorities”, Dmitry Volkov informed.

Also, for the introduction of BIM technologies in 2019 and 2020, 15 sets of rules and standards will be adopted and updated in Russia, the deputy minister said.
