Russian specialists will learn from the experience of their Japanese colleagues in urban planning and digitalization. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of the Russian Federation Vladimir Yakushev following a working visit to Japan.

“The Russian side recognizes the serious experience of the Japanese side in the field of digitalization of construction, and is ready to adopt it. As part of a bilateral meeting with the Parliamentary Vice Minister of State Lands, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan Masashi Adati, we agreed that representatives of the Japanese side will show us in detail how their urban planning policy is being formed today. What procedures do you need to go through to build a building in Tokyo, as they generally understand, whether this building is needed or not, whether it can be built or not, ”said Vladimir Yakushev.

The head of the department noted that within the framework of bilateral cooperation, it is planned to organize trips to exchange experience between Russian and Japanese specialists. The Russian-Japanese Memorandum on the development of cooperation in the fields of construction, housing and communal services and the urban environment with the aim of creating smart cities was signed by the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of State Lands, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan last year. There is also a joint working group between Russia and Japan on the development of the urban environment and the implementation of the Smart City project, the standard of which is a set of tools, directions and technological solutions for digitalizing the urban environment.
