Sergey Levkin: in Moscow e-services related to construction reached 82%
In the PricewaterhouseCoopers ranking (PwC) Moscow resides on the top position due to the use of information technologies in the city management, says the Head of the Department of Urban Planning Policy, Sergey Levkin.
“Moscow has outrun not only domestic but also the world’s largest cities such as London, Sydney, New York and Barcelona,” said Sergey Levkin.
He stressed that the main goal of the Government of Moscow is to create a comfortable urban environment.
“In order to meet this goal since 2011 the capital is implementing the state program “Urban development policy”. The main point of it is to ensure the coordination of housing and commercial real estate construction with transport, social and engineering infrastructure, to put together legal, scientific, methodological and information support tools,” said the Head of the Department.
He also noted the effort of the city authorities to lower administrative barriers by the transferring state services in construction sector to the online mode.
According to him, we can see the significant results achieved in this area. In Moscow one can obtain 12 state services related to construction – from obtaining GPZU (development plan of a land plot) to occupancy permit. Online applications are in high demand among investors and real estate developers in Moscow.
“This is confirmed by figures. In 2013 only 12% of applications were submitted in electronic format, whereas this year the number of them amounts to 82%,” concluded Sergey Levkin.
