Using domestic building materials and innovative energy-efficient technologies in construction sector is one of the indicators of achievements due to the Innovative Development Strategy of construction industry of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, which will help to optimize the product cost.

This was said at the opening of the 2nd All-Russian Forum “Energy Efficient Russia” by the Director of the Department of urban planning and architecture activities of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia Andrey Belyuchenko.

This project was developed in the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. It implies an increase in the share of construction industry to 8% in the gross domestic product (GDP) of Russia. The share of innovative energy-efficient goods and services in construction should be up to 20%.

“Technology of production of basic types of building materials (cement, glass, thermal insulation materials and others) is very energy demanding. Therefore, the share of fuel and energy resources comprises a significant part of the end product cost. Using domestic building materials and innovative energy-efficient technologies in construction industry will help to optimize the product cost,” said Andrey Belyuchenko.

Director of the Department of urban planning and architecture activities noted that on the instruction of  the Government of Russia the Ministry of Construction in cooperation with the National Union of Organizations in the Field of Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency (NOE) and the professional community have developed an action plan, the so-called “roadmap”, which aims at improving energy efficiency of buildings and structures.

According to Belyuchenko, implementation of the plan will make it possible to create the necessary conditions for removal of regulatory, technical, legal, financial and informational barriers that constrain using energy efficiency technologies in construction. In addition, the share of energy efficiency projects in construction and major repairs will significantly increase.
