Skolkovo plans to use data from drones for BIM

01.07.2020

Data from drones in Skolkovo’s medical cluster plan to be used to introduce information technology in construction, said Roman Gabaidulin, director of IT at the International Medical Cluster Foundation.

«Data from drones can be used to develop new technologies in construction – the creation of BIM information models. These technologies help developers to visualize every aspect of the project in three-dimensional space», – he said.

Roman Gabaidulin also said that the use of drones allow virtual presentations of objects online.

«Gradually, we will expand the functionality performed by drones and implement it», – said the IT director.

Earlier, Andrei Bochkarev, Moscow’s deputy mayor for urban policy and construction, said that a droneport had appeared in Skolkovo International Medical Cluster. «A drone port was launched in Skolkovo international medical cluster. It is an autonomous robotic drone-based station. These aircraft are monitoring the dynamics of the construction of the cluster facilities», – the deputy mayor said.
