Sobyanin: construction in Moscow returned to the pre-crisis level

The construction industry in Moscow returned to volumes comparable to the pre-crisis period, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Despite the fact that the pace of commissioning of facilities has slightly decreased, investment in the industry remains.

“We are talking about housing commissioning, because we had a record pace last year, we broke the record for the entire period, so now we are somewhere at the level of the 2017-2018 years. Last year, due to a change in legislation, the introduction was forced by this. But nevertheless, the construction itself, as well as investments in construction, in order to reach the same numbers in the future, it is increasing”, – said Sergey Sobyanin.

The head of the city noted that a large share in the implementation of urban planning projects today is occupied by the renovation program and the volume of housing commissioning under this program will increase in the near future.

“We are consistently following it, launched all the launch sites plus created a powerful urban planning framework, held a discussion with the townspeople and reached clear stages of large construction projects in this industry, which will increase housing construction in the coming years”, – said Sergei Sobyanin.

The mayor of Moscow also noted that in general, economic recovery is going faster than expected.
