Standard code of building operation and maintenance approved
Standard code of building operation and maintenance was approved. The document will come into force six months from the date of its signing by the Ministry of Construction of Russia. This was announced by the Head of the Department of urban planning policy, Sergey Levkin.
According to him, the standard code of building operation and maintenance will improve the serviceability of structures and reduce the costs for their operation.
“The federal standard classifies objects by type of operating conditions, design solutions and materials, it reflects the current development level of building technology and automated control systems of technical condition of buildings and structures,” said Sergey Levkin.
He noted that the typology based on design and operational features is an important innovation that will allow prompt elimination of defects at design stage and during operation of the facility.
Representatives of the Department of urban planning policy have also added that the new document contains requirements to ensure a safe presence of people in constructed buildings, as well as mobility challenged people.
The standard code of building operation and maintenance also contains provisions for energy saving measures within the framework of major repairs which will increase energy efficiency of facility, energy audit, accounting and control of energy and water resources.
