The first BIM-standard for designing industrial objects is developed in Russia

Autodesk has developed the first version of the BIM standard template for the design of industrial facilities, which had no analogues in Russia.

The template contains basic terminology, a list of basic BIM tasks that need to be solved at each stage of project planning and implementation, the main approaches to organizing teamwork, and much more.

Using the BIM-standard will allow to completely switch to digital interaction, to abandon multi-platform solutions in designing and optimize the business processes of companies working in industrial construction.

It is reported that “the document also contains practical recommendations for implementing the proposed BIM-processes using Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D, as well as other solutions included in the industry collection for the design and construction of industrial and civil facilities.” At the same time, the standard does not impose limitations on the use of any other software.

The next step in the implementation of BIM-technologies in the field of construction of industrial facilities should be the development of a manual for the customer of the project.
