The Moscow Urban Forum will be held on 30 of June – 3 of July, 2016 in Manege
The event will take place in the Manege Central Exhibition Hall under the auspices of the Moscow Government and with the personal attendance of Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow.
The Moscow Urban Forum has established itself as an important international event for discussions between some of world’s most acknowledged experts in city planning and urban development.
The Moscow Urban Forum provides a center point for annual meetings and productive discussions as well as exchange of experience between specialists who care about the future of global cities. This is an international event for experts, investors and potential partners interested in the development of the Russian capital and the implementation of projects in cooperation with the Moscow City Government.
The title of the event is “The Era of Megacities: Global, National and Local Priorities”. This year a specific feature of the Forum will be global dialogue between mayors and experts from all over the world. They will discuss key urban trends and development vectors of territories, from small towns to agglomerations.
Moscow Urban Forum 2016 will last 4 days and will be dedicated to discussion of the following ideas:
- city flexibility and adaptivity in light of intensive changes,
- interrelation of the national interest of the country and local policy of municipal authorities,
- extension of megacities to agglomerations, and transition from geographic to spatial zoning, which would take into consideration social, economic, transport and other links between the territories.
