VCIOM: Moscow construction market participants distinguish recovering after crisis


Most of the key figures of the Moscow real estate development and construction companies believe that the crisis in the construction industry has passed through the acute phase and the industry began to recover.

This statement is proved by the study conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM)  “City planning reforms in Moscow: attitude of the industry representatives.”

According to VCIOM, more than 30% of surveyed heads of construction companies suggest that the position of their companies will not change in the short term. More than 27% of respondents are set up for positive changes.

About 15% of representatives of the construction market expressed pessimism for the near future of their companies. More than 4% are worried about the situation and afraid that they will have to withdraw from the market.

The experts assess the average state of the Moscow real estate market. The market showed growth opportunities for construction sector, as well as risks to decrease of its size.

The survey was conducted in June 2016 among 1,000 participants in the construction market. 23 experts from government agencies, economists, urbanists, top management consulting agencies and representatives of industry associations were among the respondents.
