REQUIREMENTS FOR INFORMATION MODELING STANDARD

11.11.2020

The set of standards “Unified Information Modeling System” will eliminate the gaps in the requirements for information modeling in construction, Sergey Ergopulo, head of PC 5 “Lifecycle Management of Capital Construction Objects”, Director of Digital Design Development at JSC Atomenergoproekt, says.

“The analysis of documents on the standardization of information modeling technologies demostrated the need to strengthen, create clear linkages between the City Code and standards to eliminate gaps in the requirements for information modeling in construction. This will help to solve the situation when project documentation in BIM needs to be developed in each specific case according to the individual requirements of each customer, each expertise, for builders. It is also necessary to establish a link with related standards, including standards of various industries at all stages of the life cycle of the object. A set of standards “Unified Information Modeling System” should become a logical bridge between the interests of all industries in construction, between all participants in the construction process,” Sergey Ergopulo said.
