Bim will help to maintain the integrated picture of spatial development
The amendments to the Urban Planning Code of Russia adopted in July this year are aimed at improving territorial planning and urban planning zoning, and are generally evaluated by experts positively. However, the reduction and acceleration of procedures in this area may lead to the loss of a holistic picture of spatial development, believes Vladimir Troyanovskiy, director of territorial planning at the Urban Planning Institute for Spatial Modeling and Development “Giprogor Project”.
“The solution to the problem in this situation seems to us to be the use of modern information modeling (BIM) technologies for urban spaces. The digital twin of the city makes it possible to efficiently model the development of the urban area, manage all systems in accordance with the adopted development strategy, and see in advance the consequences of the proposed changes while maintaining permanent control over the execution of urban planning standards and quality indicators of the urban environment, ”said Vladimir Troyanovsky.
