Half of construction projects in Moscow will be transfered to BIM
Digitalization, the use of big data and transfer to BIM technologies are the main trends in the Moscow real estate market, Mikhail Viktorov, chairman of the Committee for Urban Development Policy, Construction and Building Materials Industry of the Moscow Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs says.
“These products (BIM-technologies, editor’s note) are already used by 30% of developers, while we planned only 25%. The first projects created in BIM are already under construction. Of course, not all companies can boast of a full BIM cycle – from a project through state expertise and a building permit to construction, commissioning of an object and transfer of a digital model to a management company. But in two or three years, at least half of facilities in Moscow will go through this entire cycle, and I think that ten percent of areas will be commissioned in a BIM model.
We plan to replicate the positive experience as much as possible, as well as standardize it. One of the innovations that will be discussed at the first meeting of the commission on digitalization of the Public Council of the Ministry of Construction of Russia is reduction in examination time and preparation of a BIM model from the project stage to the working documentation stage. ”
